Who looks after your data

HCODE, a software development studio in Quito, Ecuador, is responsible for the data you leave on hcode.ec. For any question about it, write to us at contacto@hcode.ec.

What data we collect

In our forms: your name, your business, your email, your WhatsApp, what you need, the day and time to call you and your message.

If you hire a website: your account details (name, email and a password stored in a way that no one can read it) and, if you turn on fingerprint or face sign-in, only a key your phone creates: never your fingerprint or your face.

For security: the IP address from which a form is sent or a dashboard is accessed, to stop abuse attempts.

What we don't do

We don't use advertising or tracking tools, and the site's fonts come from our own server. We count visits without storing who makes them. We only use the cookies needed for the site and dashboards to work; your browser remembers your accessibility preferences and whether you prefer dark mode.

What we use it for

To reply to you, prepare your proposal, create and maintain your website, notify you about your subscription and protect the site. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.

Who it is shared with

Only with the providers we need to give you the service: website and database hosting, and email delivery. Some are outside Ecuador, so your data may be stored on servers in other countries, always over encrypted connections. If you write to us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also governed by WhatsApp's rules.

The data of each business's customers

What your customers leave on your business's website (appointments, bookings, orders, the member profile and their app) belongs to your business, which is the data controller. HCODE only stores it encrypted and processes it so that website works.

How long we keep it

Form messages, while we handle your request and work with you; you can ask us to delete them whenever you want. Dashboard sign-in records are deleted automatically after a year. Backups renew automatically and the oldest are deleted after 8 weeks.

How we protect it

Personal data is stored encrypted, the connection to the site is always encrypted and only the HCODE team can read it, from a dashboard protected with three sign-in factors. We make backups every day.

Your rights

Under Ecuador's Organic Law on Personal Data Protection you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, object to its use or take it to another provider, by writing to us at contacto@hcode.ec. We reply within the deadlines set by law. If you disagree with the reply, you can go to the Superintendency of Personal Data Protection.

Changes to this policy

If we change it, we publish the new version here with its date.
